Another SMITH & EGGE GIANT Padlock

A nice example of a nicely designed padlock.

I will be Listing quite a few Antique Please Keep Checking My Other Auctions for Rare, One of a Kind Old Tools, etc. This One is my Favorite Padlock...It's from the 1800's, Very Rare and the Patina on the Brass is Beautiful...Almost a Red Color! It has a Fancy Design Engraved on the Front, along with the Patent Date and Manufacturer.Engraved on the Front are: "SMITH & EGGE MF'G CO"-"BRIDGEPORT CT"--"PATENTED SEPT 4 1877".

The Screws or Rivets Holding this Awesome Lock Together are Little Copper Domes with a Cross on each one.The Lock Loop, I believe to be Cast Iron and has the Word: "GIANT" engraved. The Loop on the Bottom Side is Also Copper. Measures 2 3/4" in length by just over 2" across by 1/2" in thickness.
