1890s RPO lock padlock

Here is an example of a recent sale for this kind of seal padlock.

1890s cast brass case lock with rotating shackle This padlock has a cast case, shackle collar, and rotating shackle made of architectural bronze. It is sold with a fitted key. What you see is what you get. The serial number is H 8798 and it has been opened 0354 times --I tried it a couple of times after taking the last photo to make certain that it works smoothly. The key opens the lock and can be removed.

Please check my other listings for other items that might be interesting collateral items for your collection. If you purchase one of those other lots, this group can be added for $4 covering incremental postage. There is never a reserve for any of my auctions.

Locked bags were transported aboard RPOs in the custody of the Clerk-in-Charge.

Proceeds benefit restoration of the Boyce, Virginia, railway station as well as monthly utility expenses. - eBay (6 Jan 2013)
This padlock had a high bid of $137.50 (Plus $8 Shipping).

Steel Brass Unmarked Lock Padlock Corbin Cylinder

I was very intrigued when I saw this padlock. Looking at the selling prices, clearly I was not the only one.

Vintage Padlock approximately 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1" For your consideration is an antique padlock made of brass and iron or steel. The shackle at the top is fixed, or stuck, and when the key is turned, the interior parts slide down below the brass case. There is another flat piece which moves up and down. I have never seen a padlock like this one, and I am uncertain of its application or how it is meant to work. There are two lines on the reverse which are the result of a sticker have been placed there. - eBay (13 Jan 2013)
This padlock had a high bid of $127.50 (Plus $5.15 Shipping).

Brass Good Luck Horseshoe PadLock

Horseshoe padlocks are pretty neat. I do have a couple of them. This one however appears to be in very good condition.

You are bidding on a neat solid brass lock padlock with working key shaped like a horseshoe with Good Luck printed on both sides. The key to the lock has a horseshoe on it as well and shown. The lock measures 2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. The lock measures about a 1/2 inch thick. Very neat little good luck lock. Great gift for the lock collector or horse collector! - eBay (9 Dec 2012)

US customs rotary padlock w/key. Marked for Northern Pacific Railroad

It is amazing how simple this Customs padlock key appears to be.

Up for auction is a nice old vintage US customs department rotary style padlock in good condition. The lock is marked for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Lock opens and closes but the numbers don't seem to be rotating consistently. Sometimes they do but most times not. Repair/lube I don't know so just be aware. Still a very nice lock for the collector just in time for Christmas. High bidder to pay $8.00 for domestic UPS/USPS shipping. Insurance included. International, Hawaii, and Alaska pay actual UPS or USPS rate. - eBay (15 Dec 2012)

BEAN GIANT REPLICA

Well this is something that you do not see everyday. A genuine Bean Giant replica.

BEAN GIANT HANDCUFFS - FAMOUS FOR HOUDINI STORY! Up for auction are a pair of Bean Giant Handcuffs. This pair is from the castings made by Ian McColl of Australia. The are nickel plated, and look great. So shiny I couldn't even set them down without getting fingerprints on them! They work great. The originals were patented in 1887, and this pair is among the last of the castings that Ian has. This pair was assembled and made by myself. Nice strong spring action, buttons work great, and to my knowledge, it's one of VERY FEW pair of Ian's Bean Giants that are plated.
If you put these on anyone, with the keyhole facing the body, it's nearly impossible to open them even with the key. Yet, Houdini escaped from them. This pair comes with lost wax cast key, and the handcuff itself is made from lost wax castings. Other than the fact you can see the rivets and screws on the back plate (I didn't realize how much plating will bring out imperfections!) it might pass for an original cuff right out of the box! - eBay (4 Dec 12)

This set of cuffs had a high bid of $500 (Plus $8 Shipping).
