Cast Iron Story padLock,Civil War Canteen,US

These do not come up for auction very often!

This is a very hard to find lock. It is considered a Story lock because of it's figural shape in the form of a civil war canteen. There are two types of this lock, and this is the one that is harder to find. The U.S. is right side up to the lock, but upside down to the canteen on this one. On the other the U.S. is opposite. There are no chips, cracks, or breaks in this beauty. The key is not original, but works the lock well, and the shackle spring is good. The lock measures 3-1/8" X 1-3/4". Thanks for looking, and GOOD LUCK! - eBay (24 October 2009)

This padlock had a high bid of $499 (Plus $4.95 Shipping).

Boer Plug 8 Handcuffs

I still have to get myself a set of these.

Very heavy Boer War Plug (figure of) Eight handcuffs.

Please note that I am neither a collector nor an expert in restraints and I am doing my best to describe these handcuffs in photos and words:

It has a double lock and the key that is used to unlock it has two ends. PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT HAVE THE KEY. I understand the keys are not as scarce as the cuffs and also that one can be made. You must unscrew the plug to gain access to the lock. The plug provides extra security by limiting access to the bolt. One end of the key unscrews the plug and then the other end screws into the lock to open.

The cuffs do not have any visible markings on them.

The handcuffs measure 5-1/8" across and 3-1/4" high. They weigh 1 lb. 4.8 ozs. on my postage scale. - eBay (11 Oct 2009)

This padlock had a high bid of $207.50 (Plus $7.20 Shipping).

French LYON PRESTO HANDCUFFS

A very interesting design for handcuffs.

One of the most wanted handcuffs by collectors: The french LYON PRESTO

The LYON PRESTO have been manufectured between 1920 and 1922. Just during 2 years near the city of LYON. It is the reason why this model is very rare

I am an handcuffs collector and I have never seen this model on eBay US before. You will find other LYON PRESTO models (not for sale) just here:

http://menottescollection.net/serie_lyon_presto.html

The handcuffs are in nice condition. and of course fully working with I think an original key. The chain has been probably cutted then welded again. The smell weld is very old. . You can easily see the little weld on a photo.

This model has been found after the moving of the gendarmerie(french police force) at CHATEAU-CHINON some years ago in the center of FRANCE. The cuffs have beend used by the police. - eBay (10 Oct 2009)

This set of handcuffs had a high bid of $485 (Plus $30 Shipping).

E.GORNICEC CLOCK MFG Combination Padlock

I am a fan of nice combination padlocks and this is a great one!

What a beautiful antique early combination padlock! This is a lock from E.Corbin Clock Mfg. in Youngstown, OH. The patent date on the front of the dial is Feb. 29, 1916. It has a nice rich patina. It looks to be all brass even though the shackle is a bit darker than the body....looks like the body has been cleaned up a bit. The shackle is unlocked and I do not have a combination for it, so I don't know if it works. Please look at the pictures to get a good feel for the condition of this lock. It measures 3" tall. Thanks for looking!

I bought an estate lot of a padlock & lock collector who recently passed. He had cleaned some of them and coated them with a protective sealant, others are uncleaned and original patina. Check out my other listings for more wonderful old locks...I am always happy to combine shipping! - eBay (14 Sept 2009)

This padlock had a high bid of $139.49 (Plus $3.26 Shipping).

ROMER LEG IRONS (Walton, Romer & Co.) EXTREMELY RARE

I would like to get my hands on a set of these one day.

Up for bid are these nice and extremely rare WALTON, ROMER & CO. leg irons. To the right of each leg iron keyhole area it says "WALTON, ROMER & CO. NEWARK NJ PAT APR 27 80". You can see this in my second and third photos if you click on supersized mode.

I am not an expert nor a collector, but I will do my best to fairly describe these leg irons in this listing. Each leg iron is 4-1/2" across at its widest with a circumference of about 15-1/2". Stretched out full they measure 27-3/4". They weight about 2 lbs. 2 ozs. on a postage scale. There are eighteen chain links holding the two irons together. I think someone who knows what they are doing can clean these up very nicely. One of the irons had some rust on it and the rust looked very loose so I just tried some fine steel wool on it and it rubbed right off. Actually, I think most of the rust came from one of the other more rusted irons laying on top of this one for decades. I just used the steel wool on the right side of one of the irons. The chain can use some cleaning.

I DO NOT HAVE THE KEY FOR THESE - they are in the locked position. However, I have been told to check the hinge areas and locking areas. When I tug on them, there is a bit of movement or "play" so I do not believe they are rusted shut. They look to be in nice condition for their age and I think that the key will open them without big problems.

Hopefully I have included enough photos in this listing for you collectors to determine if this is the prize you have been looking for. - eBay (12 Oct 2009)

This set of leg irons had a high bid of $1,480 (Plus $6.95 Shipping).

AROLD'S PATENT PADLOCK

Interesting padlock. I wonder how well these 'tricks' managed to fool others? My guess is not well.

4" in diameter. To open the lock: first turn the "nose" on the front of the lock to expose the keyhole. Then screw the key in. After the key is screwed in, then pull back on the key, then rotate the key to open. Steel. Good condition. With the original key. - eBay (28 Sept 2009)

Appears to be from Germany.

This padlock had a high bid of $227.50 (Plus $7.95 Shipping).

Vintage WALDENLOCK Handcuffs

A very nice and rare set of handcuffs:

This listing is for a an interesting set of hand cuffs.

I can't really decide if they are the real thing or a toy, as they appear to have a release latch that I just can't imagine being functional on the real thing, but at any rate.....

They are made by Walden Tool Company, Boston, Mass and call themselves the WALDENLOCK HANDCUFF PAT. APL'D FOR

I do NOT have the key, tho one side opens & closes with the latch thingy. - eBay (11 Sept 2009)

Clearly, not a toy.

This set of handcuffs had a high bid of $415 (Plus $10.95 Shipping).
