This is a very appealing padlock. This one does not have a key and still it had a high bid.
This padlock had a high bid of $327 (Plus $6.75 Shipping).Regret that I don't have the key for this fantastic early 1900s padlock by RUSSELL & ERWIN / NEW BRITAIN, CT - measures 1 5/8" across by 3" top to bottom; embossed on the body on each side is a large picture of an AMERICAN EAGLE, sheild, talons, stars, etc.; in small lettering on the shackle: RUSSELL & ERWIN MFG. CO. / NEW BRITAIN, CONN. U.S.A.; also on the reverse side: PATENTED MCH 15, '98 with a number "3" on the left side; the sides of the body measure appx. 3/8 inch; very nice condition - some wear, discoloration but nice. - eBay (16 Nov 2010)
