IDEAL CLOCK FACE COMBINATION PADLOCKS

I would like to think that these locks had some purpose, but I suspect that they were only meant for decoration.

Antique IDEAL CLOCK FACE COMBINATION PADLOCK * 2 Locks

Fresh out of a local estate, you are bidding on an antique clock face combination padlock that has 2 separate locks connected by a chain. This may actually be 2 separate locks but since they came from the same estate and are of the same style I am offering them together. Each has a 7/8” diameter x 3/8” thick nickel-plated brass cylinder with a clock face on the bottom surface and writing on side of cylinder reads “IDEAL” PAT APPLIED FOR MADE IN U.S.A. The specifics of each are as follows:

Padlock with 1” high flat-sided U-shackle, VG to Fine condition with light edge wear, circular scratches on face and 1 replaced clock hand. Padlock with 8” attached chain, Excellent condition with very light wear.

I was not able to figure out the combination for either lock but I am sure they will work if you figure out the right time. Offered together with NO RESERVE. - eBay (26 July 2009)

These padlocks had a high bid of $735 (Plus $12.57 Shipping).

"Antique Spanish Colonial Iron Slave Shackles 1750 REAL"

I always wonder how accurate descriptions for items like this are. Unless you know for sure what you are bidding one, a story can ring truer than the truth.

Here is the real deal and an item that’s about as rare as rare gets! ... Hand forged Spanish Colonial leg shackles used on Indian slaves. The cuffs are covered in a rough felt. It was the Spanish that first brought slaves to Mexico, as early as 1520. Then they starting trading in Indian slaves, a practice that lasted well into the mid-1800s. To fill the labor shortage in the Southwest, an active Indian slave trade developed. Every year in the spring, Mexican traders took cheap goods to exchange with the Navajo and Ute for broken-down horses and mules, which they took to Utah and bartered along with weapons for Indian women and children. They in turn were taken to California and sold. The traders then bought more horses for the return trip. The horses were traded for more Indian captives, who were taken to Mexico. The Indian Slave trade later expanded to the Mormons who started buying Indian children from slavers and poor Indian families. They eventually legalized the practice, justifying it as necessary for the children's spiritual redemption and physical safety. The stronger males were usually used in the mines. The rarest part of this item is that the key (works) is included. About 18” long. This is a very rare 1750-1820 Spanish Colonial artifact.. You’ll never see another. They belong in a museum. Came out of a old Santa Fe Indian and arms collection, the collector had owned them for more then 40 years. I sell my listings WITHOUT A RESERVE , and NO returns. Study the pictures before bidding, and ask question if you are unclear about anything. We described things as best we can but we are not experts in every field. You may know more about the item then we do. You are the judge as to quality and value. I try to list several new item every other day, so keep check my listings including early western and Mexican pieces… - eBay (24 June 09)

Unusual early round flat padlock

This is an interesting looking lock. Might it have joined two chains? Maybe a bicyle lock?

Very unusual round flat padlock with original key. Measures 1 3/8" diameter when closed. Possibly by the same company as the other flat lock I have on which is dated 1887. This doesn't have a date. - eBay (19 July 09)

Miniature Antique Cook's Combination Padlock

This is a great looking miniature:

Pictured in The Padlock Collector, 6th Edition, by Franklin Arnall on page 69, lock number 3.

The total length of this lock being auctioned is approximately 1 3/8 inch, by 7/16 inch diameter.

The lock has five rotating dials. The dials rotate 180 degrees. Each must be correctly aligned in one of three positions left, right, or center in order to unlock.

This lock is not old, and was in fact made by me. I took measurements from an actual antique Cook's patent padlock and scaled it down to 1/2 size. This is an accurate reproduction in miniature. This lock is number 1 (the first made), and signed by me. So far there are only 4 including this, the other three are in private collections. I might make one more for myself if this one sells. I spent a lot of time and effort on this miniature. There are exactly 26 parts that make up this padlock. I can provide pictures of the parts prior to assembly to the winning bidder.

I will be happy to answer questions and email photos upon request.

I will pay for shipping and insurance on this item.

Thank you for looking.

Old Iron Figure Eight Style Handcuffs

Here is what appears to be an old set of figure eight handcufs.

Old Pair Of Iron Figure Eight Style Handcuffs

Please see pics with tape measure for the measurements - Weight is 11.7 Ounces

There is some pitting to the metal and it looks like they may have been painted black, but I am unsure when.

I can see no markings of any kind

There is no lock, key, screw or whatever was used to lock these.

One side where they would lock has a small hole that is threaded and the other side where they come together has a larger hole with worn threading - the metal has cracks on either side of this larger hole as if someone tightened it alot or too tightly

Please see all the pics and ask any questions about description - Please don't ask questions about the age, history or origin as I do not know - eBay (28 May 09)

This set of handcuffs had a high bid of $282 (Plus $6 Shipping).
