AMERICAN SEAL PADLOCK - 1870

Here is a neat seal padlock:

A RARE, SOLID BRONZE, AMERICAN SEAL LOCK FROM 1870. This lock is the first and best quality lock in the American Seal lock series. The lock is mechanically perfect and is supplied with an "XX" keyed-alike series operating key. This key will open all "XX" locks. The lock was designed to take a glass seal. A copy of the JOURNAL OF LOCK with an article on the Amrerical Seal Lock Co. will be included so the winner can fully appreciate the mechanism and history behind this lock. These locks are not showing up any more. The lock is in excellent condition with a good patina and the expected minor scratches and dents from years of use. The stamping on the rear is beautiful and undamaged. It is about as nice as you will find. There is no major damage to the lock. SIZE: 2.75"w x 4.00"h x 1.0"d. 1lb 2.2oz - eBay (29 June 09)

I really like this padlock.

Here is what appears to be a railroad padlock.

Antique Scandi Polhelm Rat Lock Mini Padloc

Here is a nice small miniature padlock.

Very hard to find miniature "Rat Tail" or Polhelm scandinavian padlock with original key. The lock body and shackle measure under 1 inch tall by 5/8 inch across. The tail adds another 5/8 inch to total length and makes the entire lock 1 5/8 inches long. This is in excellent condition with no damages or repairs. - eBay (12 June 09)

REG'D U.S. MAIL COUNTING PADLOCK - SARGENT & GREENLEAF

Here is a different (earlier?) version of the Registered U.S. MAIL Padlock:

A solid brass Sargent & Greenleaf US Mail counting lock. This lock was NOT made by the Government. Note the individual windows for each number and the peaned-over top or the case. There are no screws in this lock. It can not be reset. The lock is mechanically perfect and is supplied with an operating key. The lock is in excellent condition and has no major damage. It has a pin tumbler mechanism. SIZE: 1.75"w x 2.75"h x 1.25"d 9.6oz. - eBay (1 June 09)
