Assa Abloy Clear Padlock

Now here is a real interesting padlock. I already feel that I lost out by not purchasing this one, but sometimes people need to make tough decisions when money is a limited resource.

 

 

This is a highly collectable rare padlock from Abloy. There are very few of these around. This padlock is from my private collection and is for the serious collector. The padlock comes complete with two keys. - eBay (20 Sept 2013)

1950s FRENCH IRON CYLINDER 6 LEVER PADLOCK

Very interesting in that the key looks like an Abloy-style key, almost.

The padlock is in working condition. It is hand made and has a crude and simle tube shape. The padlock is unsigned, there is a little mark on it, wich I can not define. It is 8 cm high and 3.5 cm wide in diameter. Each key is 5.5 cm long. - eBay (20 March 09)

Bare brass finish - No chrome

A great collectible, great for daily use as well.

Case measures 1 1/4 X 1 1/4

Distance from top of case to top of shackle is 8"

New old stock that is at least 20 years old. never been used.

Brass has darkened slightly with age, very lightly shopworn, but otherwise brand new.

Comes with 2 original keys and original blue tag. These old model smaller locks only came with 2 keys.

This is a very unusual size, made by very few companies.

This cutaway is at least 20 years old and is a fine specimen. The body has two cutaway areas that allow viewing the padlock and disc operation.

It comes complete with two operating keys. Both keys are original Abloy and are nickel silver.

I really like Abloy padlocks, mainly because fo the neat keys. They are a bit expensive though...

Amazing Custom MAde Abloy High Security Handcuffs

Abloy is a Finnish lock manufacturer. They make locks that use wafer disks as well as high-security locks. They do not make handcuffs, but as you can see, this does not stop others from making cuffs taking advantage of their special lock cylinders:

Unfortunately, the website, located here, is in German, but there are lots of photos documenting the process of making these cuffs as well as more pictures of the final product.

Abloy Classic Key Decoder Locksmith High Security

Here is an interesting device that reads the codes for Abloy lock keys:

Up for auction is a very neat and rare key decoder for the Abloy classic cylinders. Simply insert key, turn and read the direct code & also get the indirect as well. Item has rarely been used. A must have for the discriminating lock collector! - eBay

This item sold for $103.50 (Plus $5.75 shipping). Not bad for the seller! I guess not bad for the buyer either as he now has one and nobody elase does.
