Up for auction is an original Fichet Bauche Bank Safe Time Lock Timer. Did you know that Fichet made Bank vault timers? I didn't, until I ran across this one. The clockwork works just fine. I have it sitting on my desk, enjoying the rhythmic tick-tock! The are other bank vault timers on eBay, but this is the only Fichet one. It appears to be much more modern as you can see with the use of plastic to enclose the clockworks. This is an awesome piece to put on your desk. It's an attention getter, especially when running. Here is a second example of a very interesting French combination key padlock.

French Combination Key Padlock

Here is an interesting French Combination Key Padlock. I have not seen one like it before, which appears to require not only the correct key, but also the correct combination. A nice design.

OFFERED IS A BRASS AND IRON LOCK MARKED BREVETE S.G.D.G. IT MEASURES ABOUT 3" TALL AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS LOCK COMES WITH WHAT I THINK IS IT'S ORIGINAL KEY . THERE ARE THREE DIALS NUMBERED 0-9 THAT MUST BE SET CORRECTLY THEN THE LOCK WILL OPEN WITH THE KEY. Paper Seal Padlock 19th Cent. | Cadenas | Vorhangeschloss | Clef Key

This is an interesting French seal padlock. It is an older version of one that I possess. It would have been nice to add this one to the collection, but it seems that someone wanted it more than I did.

Up for auction is a nice large antique Brass Paper Seal Padlock, France 19th Century. It is marked: ACCISES No 342 B. COLLIER CONSTRUCTEUR FOURNISSEUR DE L'ADMINISTRATION When the padlock is opened the paper seal inside will be damaged. The Padlock measures 4.9 Inches (12,5cm) High and 2.5 Inches (9cm) wide. The key is 2.2 Inches (5,5cm) long The Padlock is in overall good and used condition. It is also in a working condition. It weighs approx 717gr - eBay (24 Nov 12)

Lot of15 Antique FRENCH Combination Padlocks -3,4,5,& 6 Wheels

the neat thing with offerings like this is that you can put together an immediate collection of your own without investing the time, in some cases years, to actually gather the pieces. eBay certainly makes it easier to do so, but still some rarer examples don't come around every day. On the negative side, there is the asking prices for the work to collect the items.

Up for sale is a LOT of 15 Beautiful Antique French Combination Padlocks. These are in great condition and all but 6 have combinations (written on side in green). Half the fun is discovering the combos, should be easy enough to figure out the remainder. Entire collection was picked up from a collector in Florida. Various sizes and wheels ranging from 3 per lock to 6 per lock. 6 locks also are numbered on the side as pictured. - eBay (7 June 2012)

'EDME REGNIER' - FRENCH HUGE COMBINATION PADLOCK

Now this is something special. These combination locks are a pretty common find on eBay, however I have never seen a jumbo size. I didn't know they even existed, until now.

This padlock had an opening bid of $1,500 (Plus Shipping) but failed to find any bidders. I honestly have no clue what the right price for this padlock would be. Off the top of my head, I think I would be willing to part with $800 for it, and that is more than I have paid for any padlock. That is not an estimate of value, just a floor on what it might be worth...

Antique French secret padlock 18-19th Century

The cool part of this lock is the key and keyway. Definately cool, but cool comes with an expensive price.

size of padlock: 1.1/2."inches(4cm) by :2.3/4" (7cm)

to open padlock:

1 - Pull the back plate of the lock to release the aperture plate (cache-entry of padlock) : picture 3

2 - Position the plate to left -on the symbol (If the position is not correct, the key turns but does not actuate the mechanism): picture 4

3 - adjust the clover with the key, insert the key and turn -the lock is open, to close you need to keep the position (2)
