JANUS STORY PADLOCK

THIS AUCTION IS FOR A VERY RARE CAST BRONZE "STORY PADLOCK" DEPICTING JANUS, GOD OF PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE, WAR AND PEACE, AND THE PATRON OF ALL BEGINNINGS. IT WAS MADE IN 1989 BY JOHN LOCKE LTD AS A LIMITED EDITION COLLECTABLE PADLOCK. THERE WERE ONLY 26 MADE. THIS LOCK IS NUMBER 11 AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO OF THE SHACKLE HOLE. THE LOCK IS IN NEW CONDITION WITH ITS LACQUER FINISH STILL INTACT. THE LOCK COMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL PAPERS AND EXPLANATION.

THE LOCK MEASURES 3 INCHES WIDE, 4 1/16 INCHES HIGH, 1 3/16 INCHES THICK. IT HAS A YALE PIN TUMBLER MECHANISM WITH TWO ORIGINAL KEYS. THIS IS A TRULY RARE LOCK. THIS NOT A REPRODUCTION, BUT AN ORIGINAL CREATION BY A VERY TALENTED LOCKSMITH. - eBay (10 Dec 2009)
