Sliding Key Padlock

The following photos and description were submitted by a reader of this blog.

...a sliding key padlock that I'm assuming is English made as the only wording on it are "Provisionally Protected" which is similar to the American "Patent Protected". The lock is all steel with a brass keyhole cover and a brass key guide inside, The lock measures 3.375" tall, 2.5" wide,.75" deep. the key is a Odell style sliding key that is inserted into the front and slid up to unlock and slid down to relock..
This is a pretty neat design. 'church' gate latch sliding keys are pretty common on eBay. This is the first time I can recall seeing this kind of design in a padlock.

Thanks much to this read who was kind enough to share a peek at part of his collection.
