GEORGE V Padlock Lock & WW1 Brass D Ring

I am a real fan of coin padlocks. This is a rarer version of the types of coin padlocks that I have run across.

This item is relisted on Ebay because of a new Ebay account holder had maliciously run the bid up and failed to pay. (Note: $315!)

Up for auction is rare George V coin padlock with working key and British Army kit Bag D-Clip. Both have been together from the WW1 era. The D-Clip was used for closing / locking the canvas kit-bag. They were used by the Army , Navy , and Air force.

The George V coin padlock is 1 3/16” wide and 1 7/8” high. This coin was struck between 1911 and 1928 and features the bigger portrait of George V while later coins struck between 1929 and 1932 had a smaller portrait. Unsurprisingly this has lead to the earlier coins to be referred to as the big heads and the later ones as the small heads.

There is a very small piece broken off on the edge of the back plate. This does not affect the function of the lock or degrade the presentation of the piece from the front side. Please review pictures and feel free to ask me any questions. - eBay (8 March 2012)
This padlock had a high bid of $97 (Plus $5.95 Shipping).
